The leader of LSU-Shreveport's basketball program tells The Tiger, before his team's first ever Final Four match up tonight about how the huge upset that involved this dismantling of the No. 1 seeded Columbia Cougars.

Despite the huge win, Blankenship says there are more games to be won.

Blankenship goes onto describe how this win adds to the tradition and history of Pilots basketball, he says:

"That [game on Saturday] was the the greatest win in school history! We beat a number one team for the first time in the program's history...That's a testament to the foundation that's been laid before us and the tradition and history of the program over the last 10 years. They set the stage for us to do this."

When asked if his players knew the challenge going into the contest, Blankenship says:

"Yeah, we talked about it. After we won our Sweet 16 game, we didn't know who we were going to play. It was going to be between Columbia and [Hope International] and we said 'Hey, we want Columbia!' We want the number one team in the nation. We want someone who hasn't been beaten before. We talked about, 'Hey, they're undefeated, but they haven't played LSU-S.' And that's just the confidence that we have right now out here that we felt coming into this tournament that if we played our best basketball, we can beat anyone out here."
