It was a historic night for the LSU-S Pilots, they move onto the Final Four for the first time in program history with their upset over the #1 ranked Columbia Cougars 79-78.

The Pilots advance to play the Georgetown Tigers (Kentucky) on Monday at 8:03 p.m. in Kansas City.

The Columbia Cougars have the best scoring defense in the nation, only allowing 55.3 points per game.

That statistic did not stop Pilots who lead the nation in scoring with 92 points per game, from becoming the only opponent to score 79 points on the Cougars this season.

Brandon Davis led the pack for LSU-S with 27 points and 10 rebounds for his 18th double-double of the season. Rodney Milum put up 24 points and was 5-for-11 from three-point range in the game.

The Cougars began the game on a 12-3 run led by the Cougars' Tanner Sutton who was 3-for-3 from three-point range to begin the contest.

Only minutes later, the Pilots led by Rodney Milum went on a 7-2 to get the Pilots within four, with the score being 14-10.

With 7:18 left in the second half, the Cougars lead stretched to 11 points as they led 27-16. The Pilots answered back with another run, this time 7-0 to get the Pilots within four 29-25.

Going into the locker room at halftime, the Cougars had a 42-36 lead over the Pilots.

As the second half started, the Pilots were able to trim the Cougars lead down to two points, 46-44.

The Cougars quickly answered back going on a run to extend their lead to nine points, 57-48.

With 10:14 left in the second half, the Pilots take their first lead of the game following a 13-3 run.

Moving to 5:35 left in the game, Brandon Davis hits a clutch jump shot to give LSU-S a 70-69 lead.

The Pilots did not look back, as they were able to extend their lead to 79-75. However, the Cougars did not go out with a bang. Columbia's Tanner Sutton hits a half court shot at the buzzer to cut the score to 79-78.

The Pilots will play once again in the Final Four on Monday night at 8:03 p.m. in Kansas City against the Georgetown Cougars. You can watch the game on ESPN3.com.
