The weather this morning would give you the impression that somewhere in the darkness, Noah is busily building another ark.

The torrential downpours and high winds have caused a huge swath of the Arklatex to awaken to the eerie sound of "nothing." No buzz from light bulbs, no breeze from the ceiling fans, and certainly no central air.

Due to a number of downed trees and high winds, Southwestern Electric Power Company is reporting at this writing at 4:19 am on Tuesday, May 11 that there are 9,255 SWEPCO customers without power.

The heaviest hit area appears to extend from south Shreveport to near Hall Summit, Louisiana.

If you happen to be one of the unfortunate people awakening to the darkness this morning here's how SWEPCO suggests that you make them aware of your outage.
