The LSU Tiger football team still has one more game to play in the current football season. That game will be played at 10 AM Saturday morning when the Tigers take on the Louisville Cardinals in Orlando for the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl game.

While LSU's coaches and players are focused on the bowl game. LSU fans are already wanting to know about the future of the team. During the season Ed Orgeron was elevated from interim coach to head coach. The Tigers also added Matt Canada as the new offensive coordinator for the team.

That's where the speculation about the quarterback job creeps into the conversation. Orgeron told the media during his Monday radio show that who takes the snaps for the Tiger offense will be determined by Canada.

What's good is we have Matt Canada coming in. He will be able to assess all the quarterbacks that are there. Obviously, we'll be able to answer that question once he puts in his offense, sees the specific skills that each quarterback has. Coming back, Danny is our starter right now but that doesn't mean that the competition won't be open and the best man may win. I'm sure Coach Canada has a plan for each quarterback. I think he's going to see which plan helps us win best.

Ogeron's comments were chronicled in a story on and in the Times-Picayune by reporter Andrew Lopez.

The reason that the quarterback position might be filled by someone other than Danny Ettling is this. The Tigers are expected to run a different offensive system than they have run the past decade under former coach Les Miles. That's why Orgeron says the QB position will need to be evaluated by Coach Canada.

A lot of formations. A lot of different shifts. He can play with a pro-style quarterback, he can play with a dual-threat quarterback it depends on who the best one is. He's done some pro-style in his career. We know we want to go more to the spread offense but we also want to do what our personnel allows us to do best.

Regardless, next season Tiger fans hope to see a more open and varied offensive strategy to go along with their always tough defense.
