The LSU baseball team collected their 16th shutout of the season Thursday night in a 10-0 win over Auburn.  Freshman lefty Jared Poche’ pitched eight of those shutout innings and got the win. 

Centerfielder Andrew Stevenson and catcher Tyler Moore each had 3 RBI.  For Moore, that’s 11 RBI in his last two games. 

For LSU, 16 shutouts in a single season is a school record and it's the most by any college baseball team since 1995.  The record is 24 by Arizona State.

With just two games left before the SEC Tournament, LSU can not win the SEC West, but can still earn a top four seed for the tournament with two more wins over Auburn, and two losses by Mississippi State to Alabama. 

LSU and Auburn will play game 2 Friday at 6pm.  Aaron Nola will start for LSU.  Coverage on 1130 the Tiger starts at 5:30p.
