Local Man Accused of Rape, Indecent Behavior

Shreveport Police have arrested a local man who they believe sexually assaulted at least two children.

Investigators with the city's Sex Crimes Unit were notified early last month that a fourteen year old female disclosed to her parents that she had been molested by a known suspect several years ago. Detectives identified the suspect as 59 year old Eddie Lane.  Detectives were also able to link Lane to another open investigation that allegedly occurred in 2009 involving a ten year old female victim.

Based on information gathered during the ongoing inquiry, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Lane with one count of aggravated rape and one count of indecent behavior with juveniles.  Authorities took Lane, a Shreveport resident, into custody on Thursday and he has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Detectives believe there may be other victims and Lane may face additional charges.
