Kickoff Time Set For 2019 Meeting Between LSU & Alabama
The two top teams in college football are on a collision course.
On November 9th, the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide will host the #2 LSU Tigers, but it won't be what some have been expecting. Instead of being a massive tilt under the lights, it will be a late afternoon affair.
Today CBS announced kickoff for Alabama vs. LSU will be at 2:30pm. Instead of LSU vs. Alabama in the prime time SEC slot, both Ole Miss vs. Auburn and UAB vs. Tennessee will kick off at 7pm, while Vanderbilt vs South Carolina will kickoff at 7:20pm
According to The Advocate, the reason LSU vs Alabama won't be in prime time because the SEC only gets one prime time TV slot per year with CBS, and the network used that on the Georgia vs. Notre Dame game earlier this year.
Whether the game is an afternoon game or a night game, it will be a massive draw for CBS. Earlier this year, LSU vs Florida drew the strongest ratings for ESPN in almost 2 years, and one of the best ratings nights for ESPN over the last 25 years.
