Kawhi Leonard Returns To The Western Conference
The New Orleans Pelicans have some new company in the NBA's Western Conference. According to multiple overnight reports, Kawhi Leonard is heading to the Los Angeles Clippers.
The most prized free agent in this year's gigantic free agent class has found his way to Los Angeles, even though its the team no one expected. For most of the off season, fans and experts expected Kawhi to land with the Lakers and LeBron James. Which sounds like it might have happened, if the Clippers didn't pull off a trade last night as well...
So now Kawhi and Paul George will form a super group with the Clippers, which moves them up in the Western Conference pecking order. Possibly moving ahead of what the Pelicans were able to do this off season.
The Pelicans landed Zion Williamson with the top pick in the NBA Draft, and swung a big deal with the Lakers to land a massive pack of NBA starters. The team completely rebuilt themselves into a contender in just a couple of weeks.
But now, with the moves made by the Clippers, they may be facing more of an uphill battle to win the Western Conference than they were 48 hours ago.
