Dallas Cowboys All-Pro Tight End Jason Witten kicked off the College football season today when he spoke at the Advocare V100 Bowl's Kickoff Luncheon.

Witten was elected as the NFL's 2012 Walter Payton "Man of the Year" Award recipient.

He spoke about the moment when he received that award at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

He also told a funny story about the only game he played at Independence Stadium, an NFL pre-season game against the New Orleans Saints in 2006.

Witten's inspiring messages were received well by the sold out crowd at the Shreveport Convention Center.  The audience was made up of Advocare V100 Bowl sponsors, media members, and of course Cowboys fans.

Witten had a message for Dallas Cowboys fans, that he has a vision of himself holding up the Lombardi Trophy this winter in New York.  This season's Super Bowl will be the first held in a cold weather state.
