Shreveport City Councilwoman LeVette Fuller talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the city's updated property policy, a deal signed by the Perkins administration late Tuesday.

The latest policy replaces the previous Perkins-done-deal that increased the city's premium cost from $550 thousand for $815 million in coverage to $740 thousand for only $50 million coverage. Tuesday's deal upgrades the coverage to $300 million, but also increases the cost of premiums to $900 thousand. The city's cost for the coverage does not include the $250,000 in commission costs owed to insurance broker Rodrelle Sykes.Sykes has been previously tied to the Perkins campaign through a relationship with Caddo Parish Assistant District Attorney and campaign manager Josh Williams.

In the latest developments, Fuller tells KEEL listeners that "I just saw in an email that the administration has decide to go ahead and pay the commission." That pay,ent to Sykes by the city had been challenged by the council. City Attorney Mekisha Creal maintained that the mayor has the authority to make that payment.
