Former Alabama QB Takes A Shot At LSU Football
Former Alabama QB, and current ESPN College football analyst, Greg McElroy said on an Alabama radio station that he hopes Ohio State graduate transfer quarterback Joe Burrow decides to play at LSU. Because McElroy says he would love to see LSU with a quarterback in his lifetime.
Which was taken by many as a shot at the LSU Football Program. One of those who felt like it was a shot, was new LSU Offensive Coordinator Steve Ensminger.
Ensminger took to Twitter to respond, as he tweeted out a graphic that said LSU is the only school in the SEC to have seven quarterbacks drafted in the last 20 years. Those quarterbacks include Josh Booty, Rohan Davey, Matt Mauck, JaMarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, Zach Mettenberger and Danny Etling.
McElroy was actually one of the most recent quarterbacks drafted out of Alabama, he was a 7th round pick in 2011. Since then, only AJ McCarron has been drafted from the Crimson Tide, when he was taken in the 5th round in 2014. The only other Alabama QB taken in the last 20 years was Brodie Croyle, who was taken in the third round in 2006.
