After the crushing 8-7 loss in extra innings early Sunday morning, the Pilots with their backs against the wall respond with a 8-2 victory over the No. 3 seeded Northwood Knights.

Pilots manager Rocke Musgraves called on Cade Bowen (5-3) to ensure the Pilots would not lose and not be eliminated from the Red River Athletic Conference in front of their home fans.

Once again, the Pilots were the road team on paper.

Bowen did what he was asked to do, and more. He allowed only two runs, only gave up three walks and struck out three batters in 7 2/3 innings pitched. All of this while throwing 124 pitches.

Pilots designated hitter Greg Friesen delivered early in the top of the 1st inning. He hit an RBI single to right field to send home a run, to make the score 1-0.

Two innings later in the top of the 3rd inning, LSUS exploded to score six runs. Kade Billeaudeux, K.J. Semien, Kyle Pearson, Reed Lavallee, and Parker Hebert who hit a two RBI single, all knocked in runs in the 3rd. The Pilots would jump out to 7-0 lead.

After Knights' left fielder Herb Romero drove home two runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, the Pilots would add another run in the top of the 9th to seal the deal for LSUS.

The final score was 8-2.

With the victory, the Pilots will square off against the Texas College Steers at Pilot Field at 3.
