Ever since the inception of the Battle on the Border in 2010, the event which showcases top high school talents from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi has only been held on a single afternoon at Independence Stadium.

But for this years event, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission have decided to change things up.

Ever since the first rendition of the Battle on the Border high school football tournament in 2010, the event has always been played only one afternoon in the Fall.

For this year's Battle of the Border which will be held at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission has decided to expand the popular contests which displays top high school football talents from across our region from a one-day event to a two-day affair.

Aside from the extra day added, now 10 teams will play in the tournament.

This year's Battle on the Border will be played on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14.

Friday's schedule will feature:

St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA) vs. Calvary at 6 p.m.

Bastrop vs. Byrd at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Shreveporters will be able to see three games featuring:

Acadiana vs. Neville at 2 p.m.

Marshall (TX) vs. Parkway at 5 p.m.

Longview (TX) vs. Olive Branch (MS) at 7:30 p.m.
