OAKLAND --- Coming off being swept by Texas, the Houston Astros needed something positive to happen in their series opener in Oakland.

Third baseman, Jed Lowrie's two-run error in the bottom of the ninth was not what Houston needed. His miscue allowed the A's to tie the game and force extra innings. Lowrie came through in the top of the 10th with a two-out RBI double, chasing home Jose Altuve with the go-ahead run that held up in the bottom of the 10th in the 5-4 win on the road.
