Tuesday afternoon, local coaching legend Alan Carter was hired to take over Loyola HIgh School's football program and return to the coaching sidelines after nine years of working in administration for the Caddo Parish School Board.

Coach Carter tells The Tiger on what big changes he plans to bring to Jordan Street in Shreveport.

For the first time in almost 15 years, local coaching legend Alan Carter will suit up and coach the Loyola Flyers.

The last time Carter was on the sidelines was at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport serving as a defensive coordinator under long time head coach Mike Suggs for the Byrd Yellow Jackets.

Carter says of the long layoff between coaching gigs,

"Well, other opportunities come up you always look into and you put a pencil to it financially and see if it's a possibility -  and it's not. This time in my life with the kids gone and graduated and out of the house, it's possible. You always think about [returning to coaching] but it's not always feasible."

Carter explains how high football is different locally, from when he first started to now. Which coaches he plans to hire as assistants, building successful football programs from the ground up, and what kind of offense and defense he plans to go with at Loyola.:
