It is no secret that there is a huge amount of basketball talent in the high school ranks here in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. Tuesday, the new rankings were released and 3 teams from our area are ranked in the top 20. You can see the whole top 25 rankings here .

Bossier High School, known as the basketball powerhouse of this area for the past few years with state championships in '10-'11 and '15-'16, is ranked third with a 26-5 record and a 7-1 district record. The Bearkats only district loss was to Airline 64-62 on 11/29. Ranked tenth is Woodlawn, out of Shreveport, with 22-6 record and 3-2 in district. The Knights are ranked third in the Class 4A rankings behind Bossier and Washington-Marion (Lake Charles). Ranked seventeenth is Fair Park Indians (24-7, 8-0 district), Fair Park has beaten both Bossier and Woodlawn this year and is in the lead for the district title in Class 4A.

No doubt about it, Shreveport/Bossier City one of the most impressive Class 4A in the state. Bossier goes to Woodlawn, Friday, February 10th, in what is set to be a match up of two fascinating basketball teams. As the State Playoffs loom, every game matters for a chance at a good playoff seed. Watch out for another post soon as the regular season comes to an end.
