After getting pretty handily beaten by in his UFC debut, a lot is being said and speculated about CM Punk's future. Will he have another UFC fight? Will he work for another MMA promotion? Will he go back to professional wrestling? Really, the only one that knows what the future holds is the man himself, Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks...because Punk does what Punk wants.

But, pro wrestling legend and sporting insider Jim Ross has his thoughts on what the future holds for Punk. Here is what Good Ol' JR told ABC 15 in Arizona about what he sees for Punk's future:

I would be shocked if he came back to WWE. However — and he might disagree with this — I would not be shocked if he came back and did a wrestling gig. Maybe New Japan (Pro Wrestling), something along those lines. There’s a lot of talk of other groups that are looking to get their toe in the water.

McMahon’s got the monopoly, and they do a phenomenal job. They’re the big dog in the yard, so other dogs now are barking. We’ll see how it comes about. I don’t think Punk would ever go back to WWE, but I could be wrong. They could hug and make up.

So...there you have it. JR thinks Punk will wrestle again...just not in the WWE. Which is probably a safe bet at this point. Not only did WWE fire the guy on his wedding day, but now they are giving New Day what Punk always wanted...their own brand of Ice Cream.
