In the sports world, the month of March belongs to college basketball.

March Madness brackets fill sports headlines, with the NBA, college baseball, and college softball not falling far behind.

The first two weeks in March are generally the quietest for America's favorite sport, football.

When NFL free agency kicks off on March 16th, that'll change.

What about college football?

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun fans finally got a look at the 2022 schedule on March 1st, along with the rest of the Sun Belt.

Programs will tackle spring practice, but won't play their spring games until April.

Why not release a way too early 2022 top 10 preseason college football poll up?

The AP won't release it for another six months, but Phil Steele, the czar of college football, released his prediction of what it will look like earlier this week.

If history is any indication, his prediction will become a reality.

1. Alabama

2. Georgia

3. Ohio State

4. Clemson

5. Texas A&M

6. Notre Dame

7. Michigan

8. Utah

9. Oklahoma

10. Oregon

A lot of the usual suspects, which isn't hard to predict. But, the fact Steele usually predicts the exact ranking is what's impressive.

I'm hoping Steele releases a preseason top 25 prediction to see if Louisiana cracks the list.

The Ragin' Cajuns finished 2021 ranked #16, and will enter the 2022 season with the longest winning streak in college football of 13 consecutive victories.
