    This is one of the best stories I have ever seen covering the Louisiana Hayride, Elvis Presley, Frank Page, James Burton and KWKH. The Louisiana Hayride, was a live concert held each week at the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana and was heard on KWKH. In 1954, legendary radio announcer Frank Page introduced Elvis Presley.

    Trace Adkins Sings National Anthem at World Series Game 2 [VIDEO]

    Wednesday night, Scotty McCreery sang the National Anthem at the first game of the World Series. Last night he was followed by our friend and country superstar from Sarepta, La, Trace Adkins, who did an excellent performance of the song before Game 2 between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals.

    “Miss Lois” and the Barlow

    Some of the fondest memories of my childhood, growing up in the Village of Martin, Louisiana, were visits to Kitchings’ Grocery.

    Nehi Red in a glass bottle, candy cigarettes, Chocolate Soldiers, and a Phillips 66 sign are all etched in my mind. None are so vivid, though, as a cardboard Barlow pocketknife display perched on the top shelf behind the counter.
