Several games dot the schedule tonight in high school football.

At Independence Stadium, North DeSoto tries to keep their District 1-4A title hopes alive when they visit Huntington; North Webster visits Mansfield in a 1-3A clash that will receive statewide television treatment; Homer and Grambling settle a district 1-1A score at Eddie Robinson Stadium... and Byrd steps out of District 1-5A play when they host Green Oaks tonight.

One other high school note, the Marshall Mavericks, enjoying their best season in nearly thirty-years, lost their four-year starting quarterback to a knee injury.  The 7-0 Mavs will be without Justin Hart for the remainder of the season according to head coach Clint Harper.  Cameron Haller will take over---he has some experience at quarterback this year, going 8-for-10 for 198 yards and three touchdowns.  He's also one of Marshall's best weapons--on the ground, racking up nearly 1,100 yards to lead their rushing attack. Marshall plays at Texas High tomorrow night.

Several east Texas games, slated for Friday, have been bumped up to be played tonight with the threat of severe weather tomorrow serving as the impetus.  Atlanta, Liberty-Eylau, Jefferson and Pleasant Grove have all moved their home games to this evening.
