Louisiana Tech will introduce Eric Konkol this morning as their men's basketball coach, replacing Mike White who grabbed the Florida Gators gig ten days ago.

This will be Konkol's first head coaching gig. He has been an assistant under Jim Larannaga 11 seasons overall, including the last four at the University of Miami. Konkol also coached with Larannaga on two separate occasions at George Mason.
Konkol will be introduced at a press conference in Ruston this morning at 10:30. The Shreveport Times reports Konkol will have a five-year contract worth $225,000 per year.

LSU's softball team fought through three elimination games to capture the NCAA Regional in Tiger Park.

Forced to fight back from the loser's bracket, LSU swept a pair of games from Arizona State Sunday, 5-0 and then 4-3 in nine innings in walk-off fashion to claim the Regional.

Bianka Bell singled up the middle to chase Emily Griggs home with the winning run. Bell's heroics came two innings after her mental error allowed the Sun Devils to grab the lead in the seventh inning. After fielding what she thought was a line drive, Bell threw to third base. Unfortunately for Bell, the hard smash was actually a ground ball and the runner on third she tried to double up ran home with the go-ahead run.

LSU tied the game in their half of the seventh on Bailey Landry's RBI double that also plated Griggs.

LSU will host either Arizona or Minnesota in a Super Regional this weekend.
