The LSU Tigers make their 11^th appearance in the NCAA Super Regionals, after eliminating the UNC-W Seahawks 2-zip. Starting pitcher Jared Poche, who’s struggled as of late, with a combined ERA of 9.00 in his last 3 starts, changed things up! Poche worked 8 2/3 innings, struck out a career high eight batters. Andrew Stevenson helped the offense AND defense for the Tigers. Second inning, Stevenson on second, Chris Chinea double to send him home. Moments later, Jake Fraley blooped a single to left to send home Chinea, making it 2-0. Remember when I said Andrew Stevenson helped out with the defense? Fourth inning, he had a Sportscenter Top 10 worthy leaping catch in center, stopping a threat from the Seahawks. LSU now moves onto the Super Regionals against the ULL Ragin Cajuns, who defeated Rice yesterday afternoon, 5-2. The Tigers caught a break, allowing them to get an extra day to rest. Super Regional play now beings on Saturday, instead of Friday in Baton Rouge. Of course, all games are on 1130 The Tiger!
