Geek'd Con is the biggest pop culture event in the Ark-La-Tex, and one of the biggest "Comic Con Style" events in all of Louisiana. This will be Geek'd Con's is 4th year at the Shreveport Convention Center, on August 17th, 18th, and 19th.
The guest lineup already includes Mick Foley, Chris Sarandon, and John Wesley Shipp, but when you add another name to the mix, this gets a little more...super.
This year Helen Slater, the original Supergirl, will be coming to Shreveport for Geek'd Con!
Helen Slater starred in the 1984 cult classic Supergirl, making her the first woman to ever play the character on screen.
But Helen's time in the Super-universe didn't end with her SuperGirl role. In the 2000s, she appeared in the TV series Smallville as Lara-El. Recently she appeared in a recurring role on the new SuperGirl TV series as Eliza Danvers, the adoptive mother of SuperGirl.
She's also voiced Martha Kent in multiple animated DC Comics releases. But she's also got a chance to play another DC Comic classic, in her only comic book villain role, as Talia al Ghul in Batman: The Animated Series.
Some of her other memorable roles came in films like City Slickers, The Legend of Billie Jean, Ruthless People, and TV shows like Seinfeld, Gigantic, and Grey's Anatomy.
