On Sunday night, while noted Texas Tech alum Patrick Mahomes was leading his Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl Championship, a lot of Texas Tech students were camping out and focused on the Texas Longhorns.

That led a prominent Texas Longhorns media outlet to say that Texas Tech's Super Bowl was playing Texas in Basketball.

It's an old joke, but it's moderately true. Texas Tech fans always show out when the Longhorns come to town, even when it's number six vs unranked. First in the Big 12 vs 10th. The top of the conference comes in to face the bottom of the conference.

If you're calling Texas the Red Raiders Super Bowl, they just won two in 48 hours because the Red Raiders took a lead against the Longhorns and hardly relinquished it over the course of the entire game. In fact, the lead that the Longhorns had with about four minutes to go in the first half was their last lead of the game. They tied it up late, but never regained control of the scoreboard.

Texas Tech won the Super Bowl 74-67.

It was a shooting clinic early for the Red Raiders jumping out to a seven-point advantage before Texas even scored a bucket.

Marcus Carr punched back, but De'Vion Harmon shined the brightest in the first half dropping 21 points on the Longhorns in the opening period, he'd finish with 25. None bigger than his layup in isolation to ice the game in the final minute.

Jaylon Tyson had a tough game down low pulling in six rebounds to go with his five points, his best bucket highlighted below.

Both Kevin Obanor and Fardaws Aimaq also had strong games. Obanor finished with 19 points and seven boards while Fardaws flashed some savvy with 12 points, eight boards, and three assists, including this beauty.

The Red Raiders have now won their last three home games and are getting momentum late in the season. It might be too late for an NCAA Tournament berth, but you have to leave that in the hands of the tournament committee at this point.

All you can do is win a few more games and see what happens.

The next game is this Saturday at 11 am in Morgantown against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
