Texas Baby Born at Chik-Fil-A Gets Free Food for Life
You ever have one of those experiences that seem terrible, but turn out kind of awesome? The Griffin family from San Antonio, Texas had one of those moments last week.
On Tuesday night, a very pregnant Falon Griffin went into labor. She and her husband, Robert, stuck to the plan and dropped their two daughters off at a friends house on the way to the hospital. The unplanned next stop would be a fateful one, as the couple would not make it to the hospital in time. Falon had Robert pull into Chick-Fil-A, also on the way, for a bathroom stop. The Griffin's eat at this particular restaurant on a regular basis, so the staff let her in - even though the restaurant had already closed for the night. That's when it happened. Falon and Robert's little bundle of joy just couldn't wait any longer!
It became very apparent that the baby was coming right then, that's when store director Brenda Enriquez called 911. Paramedics would not arrive in time to deliver the baby, however. It was Robert's moment to step up. Falon's pregnancy was considered "high-risk," and she and the baby were definitely in danger. ABC 7 reports that if had not been for Robert noticing and unwrapping the umbilical cord from around the baby's neck - this could have been a very tragic story. Since dad was there, and he knew what to do - Falon and baby Gracelyn are safe and doing great.
As an added bonus, Chik-Fil-A has presented the infant with an incredible gift: Free Chick-Fil-A for life and a guaranteed job at when she turns 14.
