If Taylor Swift stays true to her New Year’s resolutions, the meat of 2012 will resemble the end of 2011. The singer has touched on the new music that she’ll release next year and says that working with other artists is a goal for future projects.

“I’d love to make collaborations in different directions that aren’t exactly expected,” Swift tells the Associated Press. Her Speak Now Tour attracted no shortage of talent, especially from outside the country music genre. Nelly, Nicki Minaj, T.I. and Justin Bieber all joined her, as did Kenny Chesney, Ronnie Dunn, Tim McGraw and many more.

Swift’s new haircut may be indicative of the other ways her 2012 will differ from 2011. ““I think my goal for the next couple of years would be to make departures in little ways and do things a little differently,” she says, “and try to maintain a balance between always providing your fans with what they’ve always liked from you and continuing to write all my own songs.”

That sounds like the resolution of a woman planning to put out new music next year.
