We're crossing our fingers that Mother Nature doesn't hit Cypress Black Bayou with rain this Saturday (March 23) and make us reschedule Easter on the Bayou, but if she does we have a rain date set.

Easter Parade is a 1948 American musical film starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire, featuring music by Irving Berlin, including some of Astaire and Garland's best-known songs, such as "Steppin' Out With My Baby" and "We're a Couple of Swells.

Somewhere along the way, an egg-toting, gift-giving rabbit became associated with the Easter holiday. We assume that soon after, sadistic parents decided that it would be fun to make sure any likeness of this generous rabbit should be creepy and frightening so they can take pictures and video of their children being completely freaked out.

The Easter weekend is here and my good friend Dale Speir sent an article to me that I think you will enjoy.

Easter is definitely one of the more kid-oriented holidays on the calendar. It features colorful eggs, a giant talking rabbit and more candy than even a Cadbury executive can stomach.

Now that Americans have had some time to pay off those Christmas bills, it looks like they’re ready to open their wallets for another holiday — Easter. But how much will each of us drop on things like candy, gifts and Easter dresses?

The Easter Bunny is once again hippity-hopping his way toward our brightly-colored baskets. And while we may never be able to find the logic in a rabbit that lays eggs, (?!?!) we CAN say with certainty that the adorable cotton tails in these videos are sweeter than a Cadbury Creme Egg…and far less likely to melt in your purse.

Whether you’re a devout church-goer or just someone who enjoys hunting for eggs way too much, there is one Easter tradition that can bring all of humanity together: Marshmallow Peeps. These colorful blobs of gooey, cute deliciousness have stolen the hearts and minds of every future diabetic.
