Special Caddo Bass Tournament To Benefit Wounded Police Officer
It was one week ago today, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 that Bossier City Police Officer Kenny Gallon's life was changed forever.
That was the day we got this from the Bossier Police:
At approximately 10:30 a.m. the BCPD responded to a call of “shots fired” at the Valero station at 3820 Industrial Drive. Upon arrival at the scene the officers were fired upon and one was shot multiple times and transported to Ochsner L.S.U. Shreveport E/R in critical condition. We are glad to report that the officer is now listed in stable condition. In addition to shooting the police officer, the suspect shot three others two of which were pronounced dead at the scene. The third remains in critical condition at the time of this release. The suspect was arrested and is now in custody.
Officer Gallon put his life on the line for the citizens of Bossier City that day, and in the days since, Officer Gallon's friends have been busy organizing a number of ways we can return the favor and show him love and appreciation for his heroism.
Obviously, we don't want him or his beautiful family to suffer financially while he recuperates from his multiple wounds. To aid that effort, a GoFundMe account has been set up for his benefit.
And now, local bass anglers are invited to participate in a bass tournament on Caddo Lake with 100% of the entry fees all going to Officer Gallon's family.
It's a team tournament with a max of three anglers per boat to be held on Caddo Lake, June 10, with the weigh in at Earl G. Williamson Park in Oil City.
For all the information, including entry fee, big bass fee, creel limit and prize money, just see the flyer below. To register for the tournament just go HERE.
Let's all see to it that this officer never has to wonder if we value and respect him.
I'll see you at the lake!
