
Shreveport Police Arrest Woman for Severely Beating Victim

On May 7th, 2023, at 9:31 9.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to a call of a domestic trouble call in the 2800 block of Alvin Lane. On arrival, the responding officers learned that the victim was suffering from injuries after a physical altercation.
The victim was treated for injuries by the Shreveport Fire Department and is expected to recover. The suspect was identified as Chloe Merrick (10-19-98), who reportedly struck the victim multiple times in the face while in the presence of a child. Merrick was taken into custody by officers without incident and charged with 2nd-degree battery, domestic abuse battery, and domestic abuse battery with child abuse.
Second Degree Battery is a battery when the offender intentionally inflicts serious bodily injury.
Whoever commits the crime of second-degree battery shall be fined not more than two thousand dollars or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than eight years, or both.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
