The New Orleans Saints added a tight end to their roster on Thursday.

The team re-signed Jake Powell, while releasing quarterback J.T. Barrett.

Powell signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft, before being released with a non-football injury during rookie minicamp in May.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Powell played his college football at Monmouth, where he caught 15 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns as a senior last season.

His senior campaign was limited to only five game, due to injuries.

The 26-year old Powell did a Mormon mission in college, making him an older rookie.
