Report: Bo Pelini Expected To Be Named LSU Defensive Coordinator
According to Brett McMurphy, Bo Pelini is expected to accept an offer to become LSU's defensive coordinator.
Pelini served as LSU's DC from 2004 to 2007, helping the Tigers win a National Championship in his final year in Baton Rouge.
Following his stint with LSU, he was hired as the head coach at Nebraska.
Following his 7th season with the Cornhuskers, one in which they finished 9-3 and ranked 25th in the country, he was fired. In 7 seasons as Nebraska's head coach, he went 66-27.
From 2015 until the present, he has served as the head coach at Youngstown State, sporting a record of 33-28 in his 5 seasons with the Penguins.
Pelini replaces former LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, who left the Tigers last week to become the head coach at Baylor.
Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated reports Pelini will be paid about $2 million a year.
