Patrick Mahomes has been nothing short of a miracle heading into his fifth NFL season, his fourth as a full-time starter. You can count up his many accolades as we so often do when writing about the best quarterback in the NFL and former Red Raider, but perhaps his most impressive stat was that he hadn't thrown an interception or lost in the month of September yet in his NFL career.

Until now.

The Kansas City Chiefs will now have to battle back from a 1-1 start after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. A late Clyde Edwards-Helaire fumble took the game out of Mahomes' hands and allowed Lamar Jackson to run four plays to get the first down and run out the clock to clinch the 36-35 win.

Jackson is now 1-3 against Mahomes and the Chiefs. The other two quarterbacks who were rookies in 2018 when Mahomes first broke out, Josh Allen with the Bills and Baker Mayfield with the Browns, have yet to beat Mahomes in the NFL.

I can imagine how frustrated Patrick Mahomes might be after that game on Sunday night. For all the good that Andy Reid has done in his NFL career, he's notorious for getting conservative in big moments instead of going for the throat. The Chiefs needed one point last night with three minutes remaining and had all three-time outs. They could have scored six field goals in that time frame.

Mahomes' got the Chiefs across the 50 effortlessly and waltzed to the sideline for the two-minute warning. Coming out of the two-minute warning, the team could have worked the middle of the field, trusting their MVP quarterback to take care of the ball and dump short passes. Instead, they handed the ball off to the running back, who then gave it to the Ravens. Lamar Jackson ran the ball four straight times to finish the game off.

One coach trusted his MVP QB; the other one was setting up a field goal.

But Patrick Mahomes wasn't the only Mahomes upset about the finish to that game. His brother and TikTok legend Jackson Mahomes was getting chirped by Ravens fans after the game, so he did the logical thing and poured a large bottle of water on the guy.

I don't think that Mahomes is necessarily in the wrong here; he was definitely getting roasted. But from previous moments from the younger Mahomes' life shown online, I can guarantee he was dishing it out the entire game. He was also probably screaming on the final drive that the Chiefs were still going to win -- before the fumble had his world crashing down.

Tough scene.
