Every game of Battle on the Border has been somewhat of a blow out with exception to Parkway vs. Lufkin High (TX). This was a fast paced,high scoring and very explosive game with 18 total touchdowns Saturday afternoon. The battle of the Panthers didn't disappoint with both teams putting up over 600 plus yards with Lufkin putting up 612 total yards and Parkway totaling 812 yards. Parkway held on for a 69-54 win.

Both offenses were clicking on all cylinders lead by both quarterbacks Parkways Justin Rogers and Lufkins Kordell Rodgers. Lufkins signal caller had a total of 377 total yards and 5 touchdowns and Parkways junior quarterback Justin Rogers 409 total yards and 5 TDs. Between the trenches was a war zone with giving up 2 sacks Parkway also had 379 total rushing yards,senior running back Robert McKnight had 225 yards on the groud on only 11 carries and averaged 20.5 yds per carry and 3 touchdowns. Lufkins running back Kahill Brown had a impressive day as well with 34 carries for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Scouts were everywhere inside Independence Stadium for The Battle on the Border because over 50 D-1 prospects were on display this weekend. Every game had tons of talent but Parkway vs. Lufkin was a plus with offensive fire power, but the Parkway defense is what won the game for the Panthers. Linebacker David Morales had 11 total tackles and a clutch tackle for loss, and corner back Johnathan Jones (#16 pictured below) had two interceptions to help seal the deal for Parkway to win 69-54.
