KWKH is live this morning from the Brookshires  on the corner of Mansfield Road and Bert Kouns Industrial Loop receiving your donations for Operation Santa Claus.

I'll be there from 7 til 9 this morning and we're hoping to get many new toys and cash donations to buy toys for children in Shreveport/Bossier who wouldn't have anything for Christmas this year.

So far, we've taken in about $3,000 to provide Christmas for neighborhood children, who are needy this year.   But,  according to Shreveport Fire Inspector Jeff Williams,  there are some 1,000 children,  the families of whom can't afford to buy anything for them this year.  We desperately need your help to make a Merry Christmas for them all.

A special thanks to a couple of loyal KWKH listeners who came by yesterday morning to our remote at Geauxsicles at the corner of Youree and Ockley.

Dottie Lord came by before I arrived and gave $125 to buy toys, and Tim Rutherford brought by a remote control big red "Audi" sports car for some lucky litte boy,  and a "Baby Alive" baby doll for a fortunate little girl.

Tim also brought me a new LSU ball cap to wear during the big BCS championship bowl game against Alabama Jan. 9th.

Operation Santa Claus has been a tradition since 1984 on KWKH.  We work on this project with Shreveport Police and Fire, as well as Bossier  Sheriff's departments each year.

But YOU are the most important facet of this benevolent program because without your toys and donations, we couldn't provide Christmas to disadvantaged children each year.

Come on by for a personal Merry Christmas and a big hug from me,  and thank you so much for your help.  Merry Christmas from Operation Santa Claus and the Home of the Legends,  am 1130, KWKH.
