The Shreveport and Bossier geek community has been celebrating geek culture for a long time. With the centerpiece of the geek community becoming Geek'd Con, Shreveport's comic con, every August at the Shreveport Convention Center. But if you want to get geeky before August, you don't have to wait too long.

This April, CyPhaCon is returning to the Lake Charles Civic Center. It's a 3-day event, that is a combination of Anime, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and gaming. This year's CyPhaCon is set for April 1st-3rd. The event has been running since 2011, and in the past has featured celebrity guests like Julian Glover, Sonny Strait, Chuck Huber, Tony Amendola, Monica Rial, Robert Axelrod, and many more.

This year, CyPhaCon's guest list features the star of multiple sci-fi and horror films. Including SFx superstar Doug Jones, voice actor Eric Vale, and Tim Russ from Star Trek and Spaceballs.

One of the other exciting guests is Patricia Tallman, who boasts some great horror and sci-fi credits.

Patricia starred as the lead character (and spoiler alert, final girl) Barbara in the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. A film that has become a cult classic over the years. But that's not her only quality horror credit...even though that's enough.

In the Sam Rami film Army of Darkness, Patricia played The Witch in both modern times and the past.

Her sci-fi credits are headlined by her long run as Lyta Alexander in Babylon 5, where she appeared in more than 45 episodes, and made film appearances in the franchise as well. She also played Kiros in Star Trek: The Next Generation,  Nurse Tagana in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and a Taresian in Star Trek: Voyager.

She has some tremendous stunt credits as well too. Highlighted by her work as Laura Dern's stunt double on Jurassic Park.

Tickets for CyPhaCon 2022 are available right now. If you'd like to check out the show, you can get info right here.
