New Drug Rehab Center is a No Go
The Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission has voted 5 to 4 against rezoning the old Shreveport Country Club. Property owner Denny Duron was pushing to get the area rezoned so he could sell it to New Day Recovery.
The company was planning to renovate the property and turn it into a full service drug rehabilitation center. However, when that information came out, citizens in the community began fighting against the move. Duron says he will look at other options and buyers for the property.
