Three weeks ago, Mooringsport was readying for the official kick off to summer, but Mother Nature had other plans.

Due to the inclement weather that hit the area, officials of the Mooringsport Pre-Fourth of July Block Party were forced to postpone the much anticipated event.

Well, the time has come for that postponed event and the weather forecast for this Saturday is about as close to perfect as one could ask for.

So grab the lawn chairs, load the kids, and make plans to make it a day at the Edwin Tuttle Currie Park in Mooringsport.

This Saturday, June 26 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, it's six full hours of live music, various vendors, great food and they'll wrap up the night with a huge fireworks exhibition in the honor of Carrie Prudhomme Lanier.

Just take a look at all the performers they'll have:

  • Monday Night Jammers
  • Walter B. Jacobs Park
  • Cheridy Adams
  • Blind Uncle Keith

The event will also feature a silent auction with some incredible items to bid on with all proceeds going to Carrie Prudhomme Lanier's family.

If you're not familiar with the location of the Edwin Tuttle Currie Park in Mooringsport, maybe this will help you.
