Bill Joyce's Moonbot Studios will have a new home soon. The studio that produced the Oscar winning "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore"  will take over the building that was the Alexander Learning Center by the end of this year. That announcement was made Tuesday by the Caddo Parish School Board, which voted unanimously to lease the center for five years.

Moonbot Studios will pay a little more than $70,000 annually.

Before Moonbot can relocate to the building in the Highland area, the move must be okayed by the Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission, which must approve the re-zoning.

Moonbot, founded in 2009 by Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, has about 50 employees and is currently located on Kings Highway.
