The Southeastern Conference Monday selected sophomore guard Ralston Turner as its Player of the Week.

Turner helped LSU to wins at home against previously undefeated 10th-ranked Marquette 67-59 on Dec. 19 and then ran its winning streak to six games with a road win at North Texas 67-58 on Dec. 22.

Turner averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal in the

win over Marquette, hitting 4-of-5 shots from the arc, to score 22 points
against the Golden Eagles. Turner also played a solid game at North Texas (8
points, 5 rebounds, 38 minutes) as LSU held its sixth straight opponents under
60 points as LSU ran its record to 9-3 with two non-conference games remaining.

LSU hosts Grambling State Thursday night at 6 p.m. and then plays Virginia
