David Diaz of LSU Shreveport was honored as the Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for Feb. 3-9.

Diaz, a junior rightfielder from Fort Worth, Texas, went 6-for-9 at the plate as the Pilots won one game in a three-game series with LSU Alexandria (La.). He was 2-for-3 in the middle game before going 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored as LSUS took the finale, 9-6. Diaz also stole two bases as the Pilots moved to 5-2 in the early part of the season.

The Pilots will be back in action this weekend as they open a four-game series at Northwood on Friday at noon and the series will conclude on Saturday, first pitch at noon. Both days will consist of two 7-inning games.
