Three in a row!  The LSUS baseball team has won the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament... three years in a row!  The Pilots also won three games in a row to take the title!  The Pilots, as conference tournament champions, have a 40-16 record and still have more baseball to play.

LSUS has secured a berth to the NAIA National Tournament; one of three teams from the RRAC to do so.  The Pilots, who got to host the RRAC tournament at Pilot Field, will play in the opening round of the NAIA tournament May 9th - 13th at one of nine host campuses.  From there, they can advance to the NAIA World Series May 24-31st in Lewiston, ID.

To win the RRAC tournament, the Pilots needed to double dip Texas Weslyan on Tuesday.  LSUS won the 1:30pm game 19-6.  The decisive game started at 5:30pm, and the Pilots went back and forth with TWU before taking the lead for good in the 8th inning on a strikeout.

LSUS Second baseman Greg Friesen struck out in the eight, but the ball got past TWU catcher Brian White.  When White fired the ball down to first for the out, Jacob Lopez scored from third.  Lopez had advanced from second to third on the passed ball and never stopped charging towards home plate.  The unusual scoring play proved to be the game decider.

LSUS shortstop Manny Estrada went 7-8 with a home run and three RBI in the two games against Texas Wesleyan.
