The story just keeps getting better for Kyle Blankenship and his LSU-S Pilots, after advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2013 NAIA Basketball Tournament, beating the Evangel Crusaders 77-70.

The Pilots return to the Elite 8 for the second consecutive season.

The Pilots rode on the shoulders of Brandon Davis who had his 17th double-double of the season. Davis scored 23 points and had 17 rebounds.

Rodney Milum contributed with scoring 19 points.

Starting the game, the Pilots and Crusaders traded points back and forth. Finally the Pilots broke away as they went on a 11-4 run to go to a 25-14 lead.

The Pilots continued to soar, as they kept their lead in double-digits with a 41-31 lead at halftime.

The Crusaders lit up the hoops coming out of the locker room in the second half, as they went on a run with 7:00 to go in the second half and tied the contest at 53.

After the game was tied at 57, the Pilots went on an 11-2 run and were able to keep their lead.

The Pilots would go onto beat the #9 ranked Evangel Crusaders 77-70 to advance to the Elite 8 for the second straight year.

Tonight at 6:30 in Kansas City, the Pilots will face #1 ranked Columbia College who brings a record of 35-0 to the court.
