LSU scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th inning, and Nick Goody struck out the side in the bottom of the inning, as the Tigers defeated Oregon State 6-5 to win the Baton Region of the NCAA Baseball Tournament Sunday night.

LSU will host a Super Regional next weekend against a opponent to be determined Monday. The winner of the best two-out-of-three series will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

Austin Nola gave the Tigers the lead when he raced home from third on the wild pitch.

LSU, the visiting team despite playing in their ballpark, trailed 5-4 going to the ninth inning. But Alex Edwards doubled home the tying run in the top of the inning. Shreveport's Chris Cotton (7-0) kept the Beavers off the board in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.

LSU jumped out to 3-0, first inning lead, with the help of Raph Rhymes' two-run home run. However, the Beavers scored five unanswered runs to take the lead. The Tigers added a run in the seventh before forcing extra innings.

Goody recorded his 11th save.

LSU won all three of their games in the double-elimination Regional, defeating Oregon State twice and the University of Louisiana-Monroe. The Tigers did not play Belmont, which went 0-2.
