This has been a great year for football in the state of Louisiana.

We are all lucky to live in a period where the Tigers, Saints and many of our local teams are representing us so well.

Two players and one area coach have been honored statewide for their accomplishments on the field this season.

Several sportswriters from across the state have teamed up and released their list of the All-State teams by class.

Locally we have a few players and coaches who have made the cut.

Parkway Panthers coach David Feaster has been giving Coach of the Year honors by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

Staying in South Bossier Panthers quarterback Brandon Harris has been named to the Class 5A All State football team. The future LSU Tiger is more than deserving of such an honor this season after passing for 3,172 yards and 14 touchdowns. And, he rushed for 1,048 yards with 15 touchdowns.

Up the road, Airline Vikings junior Charlie Matthews joins Harris on the all-state team.
