Las Vegas Casinos Open to 100% Capacity
It's been a very long year for Las Vegas, but they are sending a message to all who love their glittering lights, spectacular entertainment, and, of course, gambling. They are open for business, finally.
Earlier this week some of the biggest casinos along the famous Las Vegas Strip opened their gaming floors to full capacity, with no social distancing. This is a pretty huge step for a city that has hundreds of thousands of workers employed in the hospitality industry. According to USA Today, the Nevada Gaming Board granted waivers to casinos to open their floors to 100%, and their decision was based on the vaccination rates for the workers.
If you are planning a trip to Vegas, here is a list of the casinos that are at 100% capacity: MGM Resorts, WYNN Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Station Casinos, The Stratosphere, Cosmopolitan and Silverton Resorts.
Social distancing is not being enforced on casino floors but may still be in effect at restaurants, pools, and other non-gaming areas. A mask mandate is still in place from Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak at least through the end of May.
Restaurants in the city are not at full capacity yet, but currently at 80%, with a 3-foot social distancing mandate. That also goes for pools and other non-gaming areas in and around casinos.
After being shuttered for so long, Las Vegas is cautiously ready for a summer filled with visitors, and a return to pre-pandemic fun. I'm ready to book my flight right now!
