Over 120 films were submitted from filmmakers all over the country, but only these 20 will compete for your vote and $50,000.

Ahh the smell of Prize Fest 2017 is officially in the air! It's the smell of dedication, great storytelling, cold hard cash and VIVA! Beer. With the top 20 announcement last night (August 10) at Robinson Film Center, the countdown to Louisiana Film Prize's sixth annual competition has begun.

This year, a record-breaking 127 films were submitted.

Each film had to be shot in Northwest Louisiana and filmmakers once again flocked to our state for their shot at $50,000. That prize money, iTunes distribution and more will be awarded to one film. The winner is determined by 50 percent public vote and 50 percent judges panel, which means you voice matters.

Let's take a look at which films will be competing in this year's Prize Fest.
