Masked revelers on floats, marchers, and horseback riders respond to the age old cry "Throw me something, Mister!" by tossing beads, toys, and trinkets. Doubloons are coins of no monetary value, minted for the Krewe and collected by many.

Parade Route

The Krewe of Gemini parade XXIII will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, February 9. The theme for this year is "Gemini Loves Television."

The parade will start at the "Parade Start" Banner hanging over Clyde Fant Parkway near Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center on the Shreveport riverfront. It will proceed onto Clyde Fant Parkway and turn right onto Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy.

The parade will continue along Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy. and turn left onto East Kings Hwy, until the "Parade Ends" sign just north of Preston.
"NO THROW ZONES" will be clearly marked along the parade route. Those zones are the sharp "S" turn, under the railroad tracks, on Clyde Fant Parkway and all bridges on Clyde Fant Parkway.
