Since the release of Clerks in 1994, Kevin Smith has been building a universe. Or as fans call it, a View Askewniverse.

See, View Askew is the name of the film company that Kevin Smith started to help fund and produce these films. So morphing the name into a name to describe this interconnected grand landscape just felt...right. Especially since the influences of giant, connected, multiverses can be felt across Kevin Smith's work. From Star Wars to Marvel Comics, there are a lot of shared vibes.

Just think about it like this: a list of major motion pictures, staring award-winning A-list Hollywood names like Ben Affleck, Rosario Dawson, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Matt Damon, Salma Hayek, and toy franchises based on the works. That sounds a lot like The Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, or Star Wars franchise. But it's Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse...

So with a connected universe that's so large, fans can pick and choose parts of it. There are fans of Kevin Smith's work who gravitate towards movies like Dogma and Chasing Amy that don't enjoy the Clerks trilogy. There are fans who only like the Jay & Silent Bob titles, and have never watched Mallrats. Which is all totally cool. Anyone can be a fan of whatever they enjoy.

But this all allows us to have debates on the subject matter too. Like ranking the movies, the soundtracks (GREAT soundtracks to these films BTW), the posters, the quotes, the toys...and the characters.

Which is why we're here today. Who are the Top 10 Characters in the View Askewniverse? How do you even come up with such a thing? Well, we looked over countless lists of View Askew rankings. From rankings of the movies, to character rankings, to ratings, and reviews. After processing everything we could get our grubby little paws on, we set up some quick rules, and applied what we found.

Here is the list we came up with...

Ranking The Top View Askewniverse Characters

We looked over every ranking of the View Askewniverse characters and movies to build this list. In order to keep the list under control, we did establish some rules:

1. For the most part, actors can only have one character on the list.
2. We took amount of appearances into account.
3. The element of recall was included. That means quotes, scenes, or appearances from these characters that stick with people.

Here's what we came up with
