Upon investigation, it was revealed that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 18-year-old Anthony Arellano, was operating a vehicle reported stolen. However, the discovery didn't end there. Officers further exposed another serious violation - Arellano was in possession of a firearm, despite being legally barred from such possession due to a prior felony conviction.

Consequently, Anthony Arellano was promptly taken into custody on charges including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle in question, along with the firearm, was seized as evidence. Arellano was transported to the Shreveport City Jail for processing.

This arrest underscores the importance of proactive policing in addressing threats to public safety. We urge anyone with information regarding illegal firearm possession or any other criminal activity to come forward promptly and assist law enforcement in maintaining the safety and security of our neighborhoods.

We are required to remind that all suspects are innocent until found guilty.
