SHREVEPORT, LA-   Shreveport Police make arrest in Broadway Avenue Homicide

Shreveport Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with the homicide that took place on February 18th in the 5200 block of Broadway Avenue.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on February 18th, Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of multiple gunshot victims in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered one individual who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another male was found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and was promptly attended to by medical personnel. That male was identified as Fatonious Ballard.

The Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit immediately launched an investigation into the incident. After a thorough examination, 31-year-old Fatonious Ballard was identified as the suspect. Ballard has been taken into custody and is facing charges including one count of second-degree murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
